What to Expect During Your Evaluation

Court-related services are structured, professional processes designed to gather information, support family functioning, and provide clear documentation when appropriate.

Initial Consultation

A discussion regarding the referral concerns, court order (if applicable), scope of services, expectations, scheduling, and required documentation.

Interviews & Information Gathering

Meetings may include interviews with parents, guardians, children, and other relevant individuals to better understand family dynamics, concerns, and goals.

Home & Environmental Observation

For home studies and visitation-related services, observations may include the physical environment, parent-child interactions, supervision practices, communication patterns, and overall appropriateness of the setting.

Review of Relevant Records

When applicable, records such as court documents, treatment records, CPS findings, school information, or other collateral materials may be reviewed to provide context.

Ongoing Communication & Documentation

Services may involve written summaries, progress updates, recommendations, or formal reports depending on the nature of the referral and court requirements.

Professional Recommendations

Recommendations are developed based on observed needs, family functioning, safety considerations, and the best interests of the child.

Our goal is to provide fair, respectful, and professionally grounded services that support children, families, and the court process with clarity and care.

Please note that court-related services are not confidential in the same way as traditional therapy. Information gathered during home studies, therapeutic visitation, and parenting coordination may be shared with the court, attorneys, or other authorized parties as required by the court order or referral agreement.
